PROFILE

TOHOSHINKI, meaning "The Rising Gods of the East," was named to embody a duo destined to ignite their fame across Asia and captivate audiences worldwide. They debuted in South Korea in February 2004 and made their Japanese debut as J-POP newcomers in April 2005. After the triumph of their 2006 and 2007 Asian tours, TOHOSHINKI’s popularity has surged beyond Korea and Japan, echoing across the entire continent.
After their much-anticipated comeback in 2011, excitement for their presence quickly spread from Asia to Western countries and Europe, propelling them onto the world stage.
In 2013, they held their first-ever 5-Dome Tour and became the first international artists to hold a solo concert at Nissan Stadium. Over the three-year span of their "TOHOSHINKI LIVE TOUR 2012 TONE," "TOHOSHINKI LIVE TOUR 2013 TIME," and "TOHOSHINKI LIVE TOUR 2014 TREE" tours, they drew a total of 2 million attendees—the fastest and largest audience mobilization for an international artist in Japanese history. In 2015, marking a decade since their debut in Japan, they launched their second nationwide 5-Dome Tour, "TOHOSHINKI LIVE TOUR 2015 WITH," captivating fans with unforgettable, electrifying shows.
In 2017, they made a comeback after a two-and-a-half-year hiatus, attracting 780,000 people to their nationwide five-dome tour, and then held an unprecedented three-day concert at Nissan Stadium, becoming the first international artist to attract one million people to a single tour.
In 2018, the duo embarked on their most ambitious tour to date, playing a career-high 33 dates across Japan’s arenas and domes. To celebrate their 15th anniversary in October 2019, they released the album XV, which propelled them to the top of the ORICON Weekly Charts. This achievement saw them break the all-time record for the most cumulative chart-topping albums by an international artist—just one of the many storied milestones in their legendary career.
In 2024, the duo set out on a sweeping arena and dome tour to celebrate their 20th-anniversary album, "ZONE." The journey reached its electrifying climax at the Tokyo Dome on April 27, 2025, the very day of their 20th anniversary. This unforgettable night marked their 33rd appearance at the legendary venue and their 92nd dome concert across Japan, smashing their own record for the most dome performances by an international artist. Capping off their 20th-anniversary festivities, the duo revealed plans to return to Nissan Stadium on April 25 and 26, 2026. This third headlining appearance at the colossal venue will further cement their legacy, extending their record as the international act with the most performances there.
